Cynthia Rybakoff
Cynthia Rybakoff is a native New Yorker who has created jewelry for American fashion icons Isaac Mizrahi, Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger. She is also an accomplished graphic designer and a former VP of Marketing and Design. Expertly crafted in NYC with refined style and subtle artisan details, Cynthia''s precious metal and gemstone jewelry is inspired by classic elements of fashion and design with a pop culture twist.
As a child, in 1970's New York City, Cynthia collected colorful African glass beads, precociously fashioning them into au courant jewelry for her mother's friends. Trained as a fine artist, with an intuitive eye for color and trend, Cynthia opened her first design studio in 1985, creating one-of-a-kind wearable art pieces. A chance meeting in 1987, with newly minted fashion star Isaac Mizrahi, set the stage for a career. Isaac commissioned Cynthia to design jewelry for his collection, and the fashion media world embraced her imaginative runway style. By the mid 90's, Cynthia had created couture fashion jewelry for many of New York's premier designers, including Adrienne Vittadini, Bill Blass, Carolyne Roehm, Gene Meyer and Oscar De La Renta.
A decade after her 7th Avenue debut, Cynthia was designing jewelry for brands such as Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger, while turning her attention to fine jewelry making. In 2007, Cynthia launched a collection of fashion fine jewelry, trading in the youthful faux gilt and Swarovski crystals of her early career, for the grown-up luxury of sterling and gold. Today, Cynthia skillfully blends an eclectic palette of high quality stone, precious metal and a dab of vintage findings to create wearable and sophisticated everyday jewelry that whispers quality.
